Machining machines

Your modern machine shop looks very different from the ones of yester year. The machining machines you’ll find today serve the same function as their ancient counter parts but they operate in a totally different way. In the last few decades we have seen machine and computer come together to make the fastest and most efficient machines ever seen. Old machining machines were controlled manually. A machine operator, or Machinists, would move parts, tooling and different processes by hand. Today, the entire process is automated! Machining machine are now controlled solely by computers that update and edit the program as it is operating. Multiple tools can now be held by one machine so operators don’t have to switch them out by hand after every single process. A machine shop will consist of multiple machining machines, every one of which has a different appearance and overall function.

At Anco Precision we pride ourselves on having some of the newest and most high-tech machining machines on the market at your service. When you choose Anco you are getting the best the machining industry has to offer, hands down! Our 35 years in the manufacturing and machining industries can attest to our professional and quality work. All our machining machines can operate using a wide variety of materials. Aluminum, titanium and polycarbonates are just some of the materials that we are currently using in our machining processes. Our shop is chalk full of state-of-the-art equipment ranging from CNC lathes and mills, to water and plasma jet cutting and even Wire EDM. Any one of these machines can be utilized for a number of manufacturing processes. We can help you design and make custom car parts, robots, models and even medical instruments. Our entire team of machine operators has undergone extensive training in machine operation and safety measures.

We operate only at 100 percent precision! Our customers receive the best services and the best prices the machining industry has to offer. A CNC Machine

The machining industry has seen its share of technological advancement s in the last 100 years. However, there has been no greater leap forward than the addition of a CNC machine. A CNC machine (Computer Numerical Controlled) machine pairs machining technologies and computers together to make the most efficient machining systems known to man.

A CNC machine exists for nearly every process known to the machining industry and Anco has them! Our high speed cnc milling machines can operate in excess of 1500 inches per minute! There 4-axi and 30-tool capabilities mean that we can handle complex jobs without having to change machines or tooling. A CNC machine that a shop can’t do without is a high quality Turning machine. Our facility has the latest high speed turning machines. They have the capabilities of turning an excess of 1800 inches per minute and 100 percent fully automated.

These machines can manage 12 tools at a time which helps us reduce time spent loading different chucks and tooling. We only use the best machines available. Our plasma cutter is a CNC machine with bite! This mean machine uses inert gases paired with an electric arch to produce plasma. This plasma can cut through multiple materials including high tensile steel and titanium. Plasma is perfect for cutting thin and thick materials alike. Hand held plasma cutters can cut up to 2 inches thick while a cnc machine can cut up to 5 inches of material! A Plasma cutters focused energy is a great way to cut sheet metal and angled shapes.

Recent advancements in this technology has made cnc machines like plasma cutters more affordable and accessible. A cnc machine in our shop that is similar to the plasma cutter is the cnc water jet. This machine uses focused water energy with a mild abrasive to cut through thin or thick sheets of metals and other materials. Anco’s shop has 6 different types of cnc machines ready for operation. We also have some manual lathes which can be used when more of a human touch is required.

The modern machine shop may look different than a classic one, but their functions remain the same. Anco only uses the best cnc machines on the market because we know how important quality work is to our customers. If you want the best machines and best operators to work on your job then contact Anco today. Our 35 years in the machining industry is experience you can count on.

Black Oxide Services

Here at Anco Precision machining we pride ourselves on being able to perform a variety of specialized tasks. Our CNC milling operations are state-of-the-art. We offer many of the machining industry’s leading operations at some of the best prices available. We also specialize in black oxide services. When dealing with different metals it is imperative that the correct form of corrosion resistance is met.

Different types of materials i.e. different metals require various forms of corrosion resistance depending on the grade of material used and the jobs that it will be used for. Our black oxide services, commonly referred to as ‘blackening’ in the industry is a conversion coating that involves ferrous materials such as copper/copper based alloys, powdered metals, zinc and solder (common in welding practices). Blackening serves as a mild form of corrosion resistance where maintaining appearance is also key. It is literally used to turn the various metals ‘black’. Anco’s black oxide services use special techniques of mixing the oxide with oils or wax to help reach the maximum corrosion resistance possible for the given materials.

If material tolerances and thicknesses are key to your job then our black oxide services are perfect! The process keeps coating buildup to a minimum so it won’t affect the dimensions of the part/job. The hot black oxide action involves a few different processes. First, a solution consisting of sodium hydroxide and other chemicals is heated to 285 degrees Fahrenheit which helps change the service of the material. Water is constantly added to the solution as to keep steam buildup to a minimum. The part/parts are then dipped in different tanks containing different solutions by automated machinery. The tanks contain an alkaline cleaner, followed by water, caustic soda (which is where the ‘black’ coloring comes from) and finally a sealant such as oil. The caustic soda is chemically bound to the surface of the metal which creates a porous top layer. When the coated part is heated it allows for the oil/sealant to sink into the porous layer thus sealing it. The whole process of dipping, heating and sealing is what our black oxide services entail. This type of corrosion resistance is ideal for large batches of smaller pieces.

Also, the ‘black’ layer is only a micrometer thick so there is zero dimensional impact. It also happens to be more cost effective than other methods of corrosion resistance like painting and electroplating. Contact Anco today to find out more about the black oxide services we can provide for you!

Job shop

Anco precision machining is a great choice for your job shop needs.  A job shop typically focuses on small manufacturing businesses that handle job/part production.  It can also be referred to as sub-contractor work. We utilize the use of machines, tools and machine operator labor to produce goods for use or sale.  These custom or semi-custom manufacturing processes can come in various sizes ranging from small to medium-size customer orders or large order, batch jobs. A job shop will usually involve single processes as opposed to contract work, where a few jobs would be done in a row by the same company.  Our job shop specializes in machining and fabricating needs in any form of available materials i.e.- wood, plastic and metals.  Although a job shop tends to be highly focused on one or two types of machining, we at Anco can handle most anything your project requires.   A good example would be a shop that makes specialized parts only for the automobile industry.  The parts produced form this type of job tend to be small quantities when compared to the manufacturing of standard nuts, bolts and rivets.  One job can sometimes require a few different steps to completion.  These job shops commonly encompass, honing, grinding and custom fabrication.  The production of mass quantities of goods, such as clothes, steel and food would be considered ‘continuous flow’.  The finished products/parts may be used in the manufacturing and completion of other, more complex goods like cars, trucks, planes and appliances.  Our job shop tends to work closely with industrial design engineers.  Anco can handle any job no matter how small!  Working closely with a small independently owned company for your processing needs can be extremely beneficial for both parties.  Due to the size of our job shop we can insure that your parts will be nothing less than high quality.  The small batches allow for easy customization and job modifications.  Anco precision machining ensures that we can meet your most stringent tolerance requirements on any material.  Anco offers a wide variety of job shop features.  We can help in product design and prototype manufacturing.  It doesn’t matter if you are looking for short run or long run production because we’ve got you covered!  After 35 years in the business you can rest assured that we will bring you the highest quality machining with the most affordable prices available.  Check out our website to see all the services that our job shop offers. Machine shop

In today’s economy it is extremely important to save time and money on everything you do and purchase. That’s why it should be your imperative to find a machine shop that will do your custom machining effectively without breaking the bank. Much of today’s machining is done by computer controlled machines and can be done while maintaining minimal tolerances, however it can also be costly! Anco precision machining is an industry leader in various forms of CNC machining and fabrication. You shouldn’t trust important jobs to any old machine shop. Our state of the art machine shop uses the latest technology and highly trained, experienced operators and machinists to perform numerous machining and molding to fit your unique job. We use a variety of power driven tools such as, saws, milling machines, lathes, drill presses and injection molders to achieve desired shapes, sizes and designs. Nearly all metal and plastic products on the market today are produced with one or more types of the machining processes that we have at our disposal here at Anco. It doesn’t matter what medium or material you need fabricated. Our tooling and dyes can be modified to work with any one of various material types such as plastics, woods and metals. Need to have titanium cut and sawed to certain dimensions?? Our machine shop can handle it! Have a project that requires CNC milling and auto lathing?? Well, that won’t be a problem for Anco precision machining. Since the beginning of the computer age we have witnessed an exponential increase in the abilities of machine shops. Things that would have been only dreams just a few decades ago can now be designed, machined and constructed while being under one roof. The three main processes that our machine shop focuses on tend to involve turning, milling and drilling. There are also miscellaneous processes like planning, broaching and sawing. ‘Turning’ rotates the work piece against the cutting edge/blades etc. A lathe is the most common machine used for this type of work. Next we have milling operations which involve a ‘milling’ machine. The cutting tool itself rotates to put appropriate blades to corresponding surfaces. Perhaps the main type of work done these days involves drilling. Our machine shop can produce a wide array of drilling sizes and can modify existing holes. We use new, CNC drill presses for all our drilling jobs. In certain cases we can also apply lathes and mills to assist in hole drilling. Before you decide on what machine shop to use, give the professionals at Anco precision machining a chance, you won’t be disappointed! Machine shop
